Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd was established in 1887 - a company that would later become Yamaha Corporation in 1987. They began by creating reed organs and moved on to creating world-class pianos, and they are still the largest piano manufacturer to this day. After World War Two, Genichi Kawakami repurposed the company's wartime production machinery to create the YA-1 motorcycle in 1954, establishing Yamaha Motor Company soon after.  Over the years, Yamaha Motor Company has gone from strength to strength, expanding its range and now including ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, and generators in its repertoire of vehicles. For over 130 years, Yamaha has gone from a Japanese organ producer to a thriving multi-industry giant.
